The Bushido code and the ways its followers endulge its beliefs is very interesting to me. Whereas many cultures are shocking and or boring in the field of war, the samurai have a conduct that I have a lot of respect for. Army generals pride themselves with victories and body counts. They are more worried about the adrenaline rush rather than the reason to fight. The samurai fought with and for honor. That was there highest achievement when entering battle. They would rather die than submit to the hands of their enemys. In this image, you can see a samurai warriou being followed by a servant. This scene portrays the Tokugawa era. During this time, samurai became bureaucrats and couriers rather than militant warriors.

Very nice Kris, I like your opinion on the Samurai's way. Well they are warriors and with thier duties comes that honor. They ment to be that way. That's why not everyone can be a Samurai. Think about it, not everyone has the courage of killing themselves or even let someone kill them just because; lets say betryal.
You talk about the samurai in relationship to war. What about in peace times? What were his obligations then?
