Hinduism

Hinduism is a very interesting religion. Although it is our current religion of study, I see a lot of ideals that exist in other world religions; such as Christianity and Judaism. More importantly are the beliefs that Hinduism incorporates. It is a religion that many individuals follow because it follows their routine life and the changes it goes through. It is a religion that adapts to its followers. The four yoga's are the main factors that make Hinduism so adapting. Yoga in Hinduism portrays the moods and attitudes of individuals. From being reflective to being a risk taker. The yoga which an individual decides to practice may project a lot about their lives. As we discussed in class, I felt that I am more of a risk taker. There are times that I am willing to do things without considering the possible consequence if I do not succeed.

Second Life Interview

Second Life is a very confusing set up. It brings you into a virtual world where you are surrounded with an array of people. As I entered the virtual world, I approached three different individuals and conversed with them about their feelings on religion. I explained to them that I was conducting a survey for my religion class and they did not mind me interviewing them. The first individual was named Priscilla. Her native religion is Catholicism which is similar to that in which my family believes in. However, she was quick to say that she was not a very religous person. She believes that life goes in accordance to the way you maintain yourself and that God does not have a role in what you do. She later said that as a child she was brought up with a strong religious upbringing; however, as she matured, she became aware of the evolution theory and that religion is not the answer to everything. The next person interviewed was named DJ Apocolypse. This individual was of indian descent and was Hindu by religion. He said that he considered himself very religious. His family is very strict with their beliefs. They enforce the ideas of their religion on their children so that they may live a proper life. And finally, the last person I interviewed was Jimmy Jones. This individual was very interesting. He was of the Jewish religion yet the way in which he practiced his religion was funny. He said that he didnt even believe in the teachings of Judiasm. He only liked the vacations and the holiday celebrations.

belief o matic

The belief o matic survey was very interesting. After answering the questions, the survey determined that my belief in religion is most associated with that of Liberal Quakers. Although my family in particular follow the catholic religion, I knew that my interpretation of the questions would not follow such guidelines. I am not a strong follower of the religion that my parents practice, however, i do have an understanding in what I am supposed to believe. The religions that followed surprised me further. At the end of the list was the roman catholic religion which is one that I feel is mostly associated with my families practice of religion. After liberal quakers came; protestant, unitarian, and reformed judiasm, etc. I thought that I had made a mistake in my answers, however my responses make up the results that belief o matic gave me.
